INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 30g parmesan cheese
  • 50g pine nuts
  • 100ml olive oil
  • Squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS

  1. If you're using a mortar, add the garlic and basil leaves and grind them into a smooth paste.

  2. Add the pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to the mortar and continue grinding until everything is well mixed.

  3. Gradually add the olive oil to the mortar while stirring continuously. Keep grinding until the mixture is smooth and creamy.


  4. Finally, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and mix it well.

  5. If you're using a blender, add all the ingredients at once and blend until everything is well mixed and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  6. Your pesto is ready! Use it as a dip, marinade or toss it with your favorite pasta. Enjoy the bold and fresh flavors of this classic Italian sauce!


Notes

Pesto is best when it's made fresh. You can store the pesto in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
