INGREDIENTS

  • 2 racks pork ribs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • Onion powder, to taste
  • Smoked paprika, to taste
  • 1/2 cup Apple juice
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 apple, chopped (skin removed)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp apple cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp butter

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C).

  2. Season the pork ribs with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.

  3. Place the pork ribs in the oven and cook for 2 hours, basting with apple juice every 30 minutes.

  4. In a saucepan, combine chopped apples, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, apple cinnamon, and butter over medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples are tender and the mixture has thickened.

  5. After 2 hours of cooking, brush the BBQ sauce over the pork ribs and continue cooking for another 30 minutes.

  6. Brush the apple topping over the pork ribs and cook for another 15-20 minutes or until the ribs are tender and the topping is caramelized.

  7. Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving hot.

Notes
