Camembert

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 round Camembert cheese, 250-300g
  • 50g chorizo, sliced into small cubes
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 small bunch basil, finely chopped
  • 1-2 red chillies, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Fresh rosemary
  • 3 tbsp. melted butter
  • 2-3 spring onions, chopped

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Slice the top off the Camembert cheese and set aside.

  3. Mix the chorizo, garlic, basil, chillies, and breadcrumbs in a bowl.

  4. Place the Camembert cheese in a large ramekin or cast iron skillet that is oven safe.

  5. Cut out the top part of the bread to fit the Camembert cheese into it.

  6. Garnish the cheese with the fresh rosemary and breadcrumbs mixture.

  7. Drizzle with melted butter and place the cheese and the bread lid back into the ramekin or skillet.

  8. Cover the skillet with another pan and bake for about 25 minutes on low heat until the cheese is all melted.

  9. When it's done, garnish with chopped spring onions.

  10. Cut the bread lid and enjoy the delicious, melted Camembert cheese with the chorizo and breadcrumb mixture.

Notes

Make sure to use a skillet that is oven safe.
